Benefit from what you eat

It has been ages now that we carry certain practices after eating our lunch or dinner and a house wife knows this very well. We stay in the myth that these practices will not harm us and are safe. But studies have proved this that there are a few habits that we should not follow after having our lunch or dinner to remain healthy. For example, we should avoid drinking tea after food as tea contains acids that make the protein in the food harder to digest. Similarly, many people have fruits after having their meal, this fills up the stomach with air. It is very important to note that we should not have a bath after eating food as bathing increases the blood flow in our body and can weaken the digestive system. Also, one should not sleep immediately after having food as this can lead to gastric problems.

Teenagers need to be look aftered when they come to this age, from physical needs to emotional needs, therefore it is important to keep a track of what is happening in their lives. There a specific changed that occur in teenagers lives, which can be helped by their diet.

Tips for teenage girls:

· Make sure you balance your energy levels

· Stay more active during the teen age

· Consume more calcium, so pile up on milk, cheese and yogurt

· Have at least five portions of fruit or vegetables a day

· Due to the start of periods at lot of iron is lost from your body, and iron is vital in your body, try to eat more potatoes, liver, beans, oats etc

Tips for teenage boys:

· Have less fast food, as they do not contain any of the essential stuff such as calcium, iron or vitamins. If you have to eat out, try the healthier options like pasta or whole wheat sandwiches

· Try to have the right amount of protein, do no over do it, as this can interfere with the calcium metabolism which in later life can lead to osteoporosis

· Due to the build up of muscle, it is important to increase the intake of iron by eating foods such as potatoes, dried fruit, dark green vegetables and beans

· Zinc is crucial in the body, so try and eat more fish and shellfish on a weekly basis

One must always remember what the purpose of the bedroom is. There are three main purposes of a bedroom, which are to shut you from the outside world into your own private space, to sleep and to make love. Apart from the three mentioned the bedroom should not be used for anything else, if this is done you are going in the way of disturbing your sleep and spoiling the way you live. Bringing the TV or your work into the bedroom is a big NO, when in the bedroom you should relax and give your body some rest so that you can enjoy a good night’s sleep

Benefits of Yoga

By doing yoga you benefit your body a lot, it helps you from the outside as well as the inside. To derive maximum benefits of yoga it is best to practice only on an empty stomach and there should be a gap of at least three hours after lunch, and there should be a gap of at least one hour after practicing yoga for taking solid meal. You should always be relaxed mentally and physically. To get a good feeling it is suggested to practice yoga after taking a shower or bath. The most important thing is that make sure when you practice yoga you use a soft mattress for comfort.
