Our top Bollywood stars are amongst the highest taxpayers. 2007 surely seems to belong to Akshay Kumar as he has been reported as the highest Bollywood tax payer of the year. The actor has paid a whopping Rs. 26 crores ($6.5million) this year in taxes as he has signed a couple of big budget projects. The estimate of the tax figure paid by the top seven stars is expected to touch the Rs 100 crore-mark, which indeed will give a boost to the Income Tax Department. Last year, Amitabh Bachchan paid a whopping Rs 15.59 crore in taxes. This was followed by Hrithik Roshan who paid Rs.15.10 crore. Shah Rukh Khan shelled out Rs 14 crore in taxes.

Hrithik Roshan has suprised many people, by being the highest tax payer in the Bollywood industry. He has paid Rs15.10 crores in taxes from the fianancial years 2006 - 2007. Following down the ladder is Shah Rukh Khan who paid Rs 14 crore. There are other Bollywood stars who also paid high amounts which include Askshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, John Abraham and many others.

The kiss scene from the film Dhoom 2 has raised issues and is facing judicial scruitiny. Aishwarya Rai (now Mrs Bachchan) and Hrithik Roshan have been issued summons for their kiss scene in Dhoom 2. At first the Bachchan family was quite displeased with this as it involved their daughter in law to be, but now the district judge is miffed too. Both Hrithik and Aishwarya are to appear before the court on May 30^th.
